The Bakken provides “gold rush” opportunities and amazing oilfield salaries. However, it is difficult to find adequate housing and hotel rooms are very hard to come by. We have compiled a list, by area, of hotels in the area. Your best chance for success is to call the hotels in the order listed for each representative area. Some will tell you that finding a room in the region is impossible if you don’t make a reservation weeks or months in advance. This is not true! It is possible to find a room in the bakken if you are willing to gamble a bit. Most hotels have a cancellation policy of 6pm the day of. At 6pm each day, several hotel rooms open up in the city of Williston and surrounding areas. You would be best to be in person at the hotels in the order listed during that hour if you really need a room.
