My name is Matt King. I work in the oil industry but have not spent the majority of my career here. Actually, I learned the entire business from scratch (still learning new things every day) and during this process became so interested in oil and gas that I joined the industry. Most of the knowledge I have gained over the last four years is compiled into a book I wrote, the “Shale Oil Revolution.” The content in the book, and on this website, is from personal research and  verbal interactions with the men and women who explore, produce, and service unconventional resource plays in the United States.

I would like to say that this is not one of the hundreds of investing websites which tries to sell you guides on who the next big Bakken player will be nor do we make any investment advice. If a company is involved in a certain story I highlight, it is for reference purposes only. No Investment Reccomendations Whatsoever!

“Shale Oil Revolution“is the result of my journey from knowing absolutely nothing about the industry to becoming a replied upon source and speaker for a fortune 500 company on the subject of unconventional resources. I could only have wished for the information in this book five years ago to help me understand the industry as a whole – but it did not exist. And from what I can tell, this is the only book,  that does exist that does just that.

I have truly become to enjoy this industry. I am making this sought after information available because I think it is important for the public to be educated on unconventional resources and to understand the economic potential of unconventional resources, which I dub the “Shale Economic Engine.” As you read “Shale Oil Revolution,” and subsequent website posts, you will see how this “engine” affects us all and sometimes, in very direct ways. In addition, after reading “Shale Oil Revolution,” you can expect to have an intelligent conversation with an industry professional and they will be amazed at your knowledge and vernacular for someone who has not been in the industry several years.
